At that time, 83% said Indonesia was moving in the right direction, while the latest survey found 34.3% said it was moving in the wrong direction and 18% were unsure.

As food moves through the digestive system, gut microbes in the colon break down indigestible food left after digestion in the small intestine.

This process produces gases including hydrogen, methane and hydrogen sulphide, which is linked to the rotten-egg smell of gas.

Hydrogen may speed gut movement, while methane may slow it, though research on hydrogen sulphide’s effects has found mixed results.

A real-world study measured these three gases through breath tests in 3,004 people with gastrointestinal symptoms, especially excessive bloating and flatulence.
