Celebrity Traitors faces leaks and rule breaches as BBC warns cast

The BBC has reminded Celebrity Traitors contestants to keep the show’s secrets after a series of leaks and rule breaches.

The British reality show was filmed at Ardross Castle in Scotland, and its contestants signed agreements not to disclose what happens.

Richard E. Grant revealed he was a Traitor in a June radio interview, months before the series began airing.

The interview segment was removed from on-demand versions, and the BBC reportedly plans no further action over his slip-up.

Contestants also shared winner spoilers in a WhatsApp group, prompting Julie Hesmondhalgh and others to leave.

James Blunt took down an Instagram post featuring his suit after it breached BBC rules on commercial activity.

The BBC says cast members have been reminded of its guidelines, while reports say finalists’ identities are being discussed at showbiz gatherings.

What people are saying

Richard E. GrantActor and contestant
The very nature of being an actor is that you rely entirely on the camaraderie of the people that you’re working with and to trust them, and when you’re a Traitor, it’s far more challenging than you might anticipate.

The BBC has clear guidelines in place around commercial activity which we take very seriously and players have been reminded of this. The social media posts referred to have been taken down.

People were sharing who'd won at one point, and me and a couple of other people removed ourselves because we just don't want to know.
