Mumbai gets much of its water from seven lakes and reservoirs.

On September 2, they were almost 96% full.

The water level was a little lower than on September 1.

The reservoirs still contained nearly 13.87 billion litres of useful water.

Vehar was completely full, while Upper Vaitarna had the lowest level.

Several lakes received rain during the previous 24 hours.

Some reservoirs had already overflowed earlier in the monsoon.

Officials said Mumbai’s water supply remains comfortable.

More light to moderate rain and some heavy showers were possible, but no weather alert was issued.
