Mumbai BMC Removes 38 Stalls in Pedestrian First Drive

Mumbai’s civic body, the BMC, is clearing stalls and other obstructions from footpaths.

It says the goal is to make walking safer and easier.

Officials removed 38 unauthorised stalls in several parts of western Mumbai.

These included areas near three railway stations and two important roads.

The wider campaign plans to clear 200 footpaths across the city.

In Vile Parle, officials also plan to remove encroachments from 27 roads.

Six footpaths in the listed areas have already been cleared.

The work is meant to reduce crowding and congestion, especially during busy hours.

A similar clearance operation was also conducted near Sandhurst Road and Wadibunder.
