New Daily Mumbai–Sawantwadi Train To Start September 3
A new train will run every day between Mumbai and Sawantwadi Road in Konkan.
It will begin with a special inauguration on September 3.
Devendra Fadnavis will flag off the first train at CSMT.
The special train will leave at 12:50 pm and arrive at 2 am the next day.
It will stop at many stations along the route.
The train will make it easier to travel to places such as Kankavli, Kudal and Sawantwadi.
Officials expect it to help traders and tourists.
They also expect it to reduce crowding on some other Konkan trains.
Central Railway will inaugurate a daily express service between CSMT and Sawantwadi Road on September 3.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will flag off the inaugural train from CSMT at 12:50 pm.
The inaugural special train will reach Sawantwadi Road at 2 am the following day.
The service will stop at stations including Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Sindhudurg and Kudal.
The train is intended to improve South Konkan connectivity, support tourism and ease congestion on other Konkan-bound trains.
