Mumbai Reservoir Water Stock Rises To 95.83%, Near Full
Mumbai gets much of its water from seven large reservoirs.
On August 26, they were 95.83% full overall.
This was slightly higher than the 95.72% recorded the day before.
The reservoirs held about 1,386,958 million litres of water.
Vehar was completely full, and Modak Sagar was almost completely full.
Upper Vaitarna had the lowest level, but it was still nearly 90% full.
Rain fell at most of the reservoirs during the previous day.
Several reservoirs were still overflowing after heavy monsoon rainfall earlier in the season.
These high levels provide Mumbai with a strong water supply buffer.
Mumbai’s seven reservoirs held 95.83% of their combined useful capacity as of 6 a.m. on August 26, 2026.
Total storage reached 1,386,958 million litres, up about 1,511 million litres from the previous day.
Vehar remained full at 100%, while Modak Sagar stood at 99.99% of capacity.
Upper Vaitarna had the lowest level at 89.76%, while Bhatsa held 95.91%.
Middle Vaitarna recorded the highest reservoir rainfall, receiving 17 mm in 24 hours.
