Andhra Pradesh Buildings Lit in Tricolour for Independence Day
People in India are getting ready to celebrate a very special day called Independence Day.
This day reminds everyone that India became a free country many years ago.
This year will be the 80th time India celebrates this holiday.
In a state called Andhra Pradesh, the government has decorated its big buildings with pretty lights.
The lights are orange, white and green, just like India's flag.
The main government buildings that got decorated are the Assembly and the Secretariat buildings.
The Assembly is where the state's leaders meet to make rules.
Even a park and some old caves near the city of Vijayawada were decorated with lights.
All the colourful lights will make the city look bright and festive for the big celebration.
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Secretariat buildings in the Amaravati capital region were illuminated with electrical decorations ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
The five Secretariat buildings were lit up in the colours of the national Tricolour, while the Assembly building was decorated with colourful lights.
Special illumination was installed along both sides of the roads within the Assembly and Secretariat premises, and Central Park was also decorated.
Several landmarks around Vijayawada, including Lok Bhavan, the Chief Minister's camp office at Undavalli, Prakasam Barrage and the Undavalli Caves, were illuminated.
The lighting arrangements were part of the State government's preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
