India celebrates a special birthday called Independence Day.

This year is the 80th celebration.

On the night before, many famous places light up with the colours of the Indian flag.

The flag colours are called the tricolour.

Big monuments like India Gate and Humayun's Tomb glow in these colours.

The Adiyogi statue and the CSMT railway station are also lit up.

Even the Allahabad High Court and a building in Dehradun shine in the flag colours.

The Attari border gate in Amritsar is decorated too.

People enjoy watching these bright, colourful landmarks.
