Chandrababu Naidu inspects water levels at Prakasam Barrage
A leader in India named Mr. Chandrababu Naidu went to see a big river barrier called the Prakasam Barrage.
The barrier holds water from the Godavari river that is being moved to another river so farms can use it.
The water is carried through a special project called Pattiseema.
Workers told him that a lot of water has already been moved this season.
Some water also spilled into the sea because there was so much of it.
The water is used to help farmers grow crops in an area called the Krishna Delta.
Mr. Naidu said the water is very important because there has not been enough rain.
He asked the workers to use the water carefully so every farm gets what it needs.
He wants to make sure the crops stay healthy even when it does not rain much.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inspected water levels at Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada.
Officials said 17.52 TMC of Godavari water has been diverted to the Krishna river through Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme this season.
Around 521 TMC of Godavari water has flowed into the sea so far due to heavy upstream inflows.
A total of 7,158 cusecs of water is being released into the canal system to meet irrigation needs of the Krishna Delta.
Naidu stressed efficient water management to support farmers facing deficient rainfall conditions.
