Indonesia Cuts National Nutrition Agency Budget to Rp229 Trillion

Indonesia’s Finance Ministry says the National Nutrition Agency’s effective budget is now Rp229 trillion, down from Rp268 trillion set at the start of the year.

The ministry described the change as about Rp38 trillion in budget savings.

The agency is responsible for programs including Free Nutritious Meals, which had reached 57 million people by the end of September 2026.

Spending on that program had reached Rp153.2 trillion by then.

The government says it still supports improvements to the agency’s work.

It says the focus is not only on saving money, but also on meeting program targets and achieving the intended results.
