Indonesian Community Teams Deliver Aid After East Nusa Tenggara Earthquake

National teams focused on family welfare and Posyandu services visited residents affected by an earthquake in Satar Padut, in East Manggarai district, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.

They distributed supplies including food, blankets, school items, hygiene products and milk.

The teams also brought equipment and supplies to support services at a local Posyandu, a community-based service post.

The teams say recovery involves more than repairing buildings: families also need basic services and support.

Posyandu teams are meant to help communities access six areas of basic services, including health, education, housing and social support.

Officials urged local volunteers to keep services running, offer health education and support vulnerable residents.

The local teams are expected to continue helping families during recovery.
