Eight fires reported in Jakarta over two days as city strengthens prevention

Eight fires were reported in Jakarta over two days, and hundreds of people were affected.

The city says preventing fires from spreading is a priority, especially as El Niño conditions continue.

It is checking fire extinguishers and encouraging residents to report signs of fire quickly.

Residents are also urged to check electrical systems and use stoves and gas cylinders carefully.
