Supreme Court Collegium recommends Chief Justices for four High Courts

In India, senior judges form a special group called the Supreme Court Collegium.

Their job is to pick the leaders of courts, called Chief Justices.

On August 6, the Collegium chose four new Chief Justices.

Each of the four chosen judges has worked as a lawyer and judge for many years.

Justice V Kameswar Rao was chosen to lead the Patna High Court.

Justice Ravindra V Ghuge was chosen for the Calcutta High Court.

Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi will lead the Bombay High Court.

Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra will lead the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

These judges have handled many important cases that helped protect people's rights.

Their new roles still need to be officially approved.
