Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Chief Justices for Four High Courts
India has big courts called high courts in different parts of the country.
Each one has a leader called the Chief Justice.
A group of senior judges, called the collegium, helps choose these leaders.
The leader of this group is the Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant.
On August 6, the group met and chose four judges to become new Chief Justices.
One judge will move from Delhi's high court to lead Patna's high court.
Another will go from Bombay to lead the high court in Calcutta.
The group also said two more judges should transfer to new high courts in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.

Justice V Kameswar Rao of the Delhi High Court was recommended as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
Justice Ravindra V Ghuge of the Bombay High Court was recommended as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
Allahabad High Court judge Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi was recommended as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, and Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra of the Punjab and Haryana High Court was recommended as its Chief Justice.
The collegium also recommended transferring Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak of the Orissa High Court to Gujarat and Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra to the Chhattisgarh High Court.
