Hyundai, Kia Bet on BaaS and Syros EV Revival

Hyundai, Kia Bet on BaaS and Syros EV Revival
Why BaaS and Syros EV are key to reviving Korean EV sales · financialexpress.com

Hyundai and Kia did not sell many electric cars in India during the first half of 2026.

Together, they sold 4,693 vehicles in a market of about 150,000 electric vehicles.

Hyundai’s Creta Electric sales slowed by June.

In July, Hyundai made the car cheaper to buy by charging separately for battery use.

This system is called Battery-as-a-Service, or BaaS.

Kia also launched a new electric car called the Syros EV.

The Syros EV has a lower starting price when buyers use Kia’s BaaS plan.

These lower prices and new models could help both companies sell more electric cars in the second half of the year.
