Mumbai Sees Light Rain as Lakes Near Full Capacity
Mumbai had cloudy weather and some light rain on September 5.
This happened because monsoon conditions were continuing.
The seven lakes that supply the city held almost 96% of their useful water capacity.
Vehar lake was completely full.
Several other lakes were also more than 97% full.
High tides were expected on the evening of September 5 and the morning of September 6.
Rain combined with high tides can cause waterlogging in low-lying places.
The BMC asked people to stay alert and call 1916 during emergencies.

The seven reservoirs supplying Mumbai held 95.89% of their useful live storage as of 6 am.
Vehar was full, while Modak Sagar, Tansa and Middle Vaitarna each held more than 97%.
A 3.12-metre high tide was expected at 5:11 pm on September 5.
The BMC urged residents to monitor updates, especially in low-lying areas vulnerable to waterlogging.
