Mumbai Lake Levels Cross 90% Mark, Water Stock Rises

Mumbai is a big city in India that needs lots of water every day.

The water comes from seven big lakes and dams nearby.

During the rainy season, called monsoon, these lakes fill up.

A new report says the lakes are now more than 90 percent full.

That means the city has plenty of water stored for people to use.

The lakes hold about 13 lakh million litres of water.

Yesterday they were only 89.49 percent full, so the water level went up a little bit.

Two lakes called Vihar and Tulsi are completely full.

Some lakes even started overflowing in July because of the heavy rain.

The rain keeps falling, so the city's water supply is strong and safe.
