Southern Railway Announces Special Trains for Velankanni Festival Rush
The railway is adding extra trains for people traveling to the Velankanni festival.
These trains will connect Thiruvananthapuram North and Velankanni.
One train will travel toward Velankanni on two Saturdays.
The return train will travel on the following two Sundays.
The trains will stop at several stations along the route.
The journey will take place overnight.

Train 06115 will run from Thiruvananthapuram North to Velankanni on August 29 and September 5, 2026.
Train 06116 will return from Velankanni to Thiruvananthapuram North on August 30 and September 6, 2026.
Train 06115 departs at 7:35 pm and arrives at 8:40 am the next day, while Train 06116 runs from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am.
Advance reservations opened at 8 am on August 20, 2026, to help manage the festival-season passenger rush.
