Southern Railway is adding extra trains for people travelling during the Onam festival.

These trains will connect Chennai and Mangaluru.

The Chennai-to-Mangaluru train will run on two Fridays, August 21 and August 28, 2026.

The return train will run on two Saturdays, August 22 and August 29.

The trains will stop at several stations in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.

The trip from Chennai to Mangaluru will take about 17 hours.

The return trip will take about 16 hours and 20 minutes.

Passengers could begin reserving seats at 8 am on August 19.
