MLA Assures Guntur Residents Over Safety Of Drinking Water
Some people in Guntur reported that their drinking water looked discoloured.
MLA Md Naseer Ahmed visited water facilities to check what was happening.
He said the raw water had changed colour slightly.
This water was coming from the Krishna River through the Pattiseema project.
He said the water was being cleaned before it reached homes.
Officials were checking chlorination, tank cleaning and the final supply.
He told residents not to worry because the supplied water was clean.
He also ordered daily checks of water in households.
MLA Md Naseer Ahmed inspected the Takkellapadu Reservoir, Nehru Nagar and other water supply points in Guntur on Sunday.
The inspection followed complaints about discoloured water being supplied in some city areas.
Ahmed said raw water from the Krishna River had changed colour slightly after being received through the Pattiseema project.
He said purification and supply were being monitored through chlorination, tank cleaning and final distribution.
Secretariat amenities secretaries were instructed to inspect household water daily, including at least one home in every ten-household group.
