GVMC Commissioner assures measures to prevent drinking water shortage
A big city called Visakhapatnam gets its drinking water from reservoirs.
A man named Ketan Garg, who is in charge of the city's water and other services, visited a big water storage tank.
He found that some reservoirs, like Mudasarlova, do not have as much water as before.
To fix this, the city will bring extra water from a canal called Yeleru.
Some parts of the city, like Arilova, KRM Colony and Pothina Mallayyapalem, are having a hard time getting water.
In those places, the city now gives water for 45 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
The water has been coming without stopping for two days.
Also, free water tankers will be sent to the areas that need help the most.
This way, the city hopes no one will run out of drinking water.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg visited the town service reservoir in Visakhapatnam to review drinking water arrangements.
Water levels have decreased in Mudasarlova reservoir and other reservoirs, so water will be supplied from the Yeleru canal.
The water supply problem is severe in six areas, including Arilova, KRM Colony and Pothina Mallayyapalem.
Supply duration in problem areas has been increased from 30 to 45 minutes, with continuous supply for the past two days.
Free water tankers will be arranged for the problem areas to prevent drinking water shortage.
