Andhra Pradesh Restructures Urban Development Authorities in Chittoor Region
Andhra Pradesh changed the areas managed by three urban development authorities.
The changes followed the reorganisation of districts in the region.
Tirupati Urban Development Authority became smaller and now covers fewer municipalities, mandals and villages.
Some areas were moved into or removed from its jurisdiction.
Palamaner-Kuppam-Madanapalle Urban Development Authority was renamed Annamayya Urban Development Authority.
It will manage urban and rural areas mainly linked to Annamayya district.
Chittoor Urban Development Authority was renamed Chittoor-Palamaner-Kuppam Urban Development Authority.
The changes officially took effect after a Gazette notification was published on August 17.
Government Order 196 revises the boundaries and names of three urban development authorities.
Tirupati Urban Development Authority now covers 7,728.63 sq km, including 36 mandals and 1,080 revenue villages.
Palamaner-Kuppam-Madanapalle Urban Development Authority has been renamed Annamayya Urban Development Authority.
Annamayya Urban Development Authority will cover four urban local bodies, 25 mandals and 378 villages.
Chittoor Urban Development Authority has been renamed CPKUDA and expanded to 4,604.11 sq km.
