SVIMS to Open Eight-Bed Paediatric ICU in Tirupati
SVIMS is opening a special intensive care unit for very sick children.
The unit will have eight beds and is located in Tirupati.
State Bank of India gave ₹52 lakh to help build it.
Doctors will use monitors to watch children’s heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels and breathing.
Machines will help children who are having serious trouble breathing.
The unit will also help staff respond quickly to heart problems and other emergencies.
Children with serious infections, poisoning or complications after surgery can be treated there.
Hospital staff will receive regular training to care for these critically ill children.
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences will shortly open an eight-bed Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Tirupati.
State Bank of India provided ₹52 lakh to establish the facility at Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women.
The unit will offer continuous monitoring, respiratory support, emergency medication and resuscitation for critically ill children.
It will treat conditions including severe infections, respiratory failure, sepsis, poisoning, cardiac emergencies and postoperative complications.
Doctors and nurses will receive continuous training, with support from several hospital departments and the blood bank.
