CM Dhami says women's empowerment key to Uttarakhand's development

The leader of a place called Uttarakhand in India talked to a big group of women during a fun festival called Teej.

His name is Pushkar Singh Dhami, and he is the Chief Minister, which is like the head of the state.

He told them that helping women is very important for making Uttarakhand a great place to live.

He said the government wants women to do more than just household work.

Women can start businesses, grow plants, run small homestays, and even learn new technology.

More than 265,000 women in Uttarakhand have already become 'Lakhpati Didis,' which means they earn a good amount of money from their own work.

The government also keeps some jobs in offices and cooperatives reserved for women, so they get a fair chance.

There are special programmes to help keep women and girls healthy and give them what they need.

Mr. Dhami thanked women who are doing great work and promised to keep helping them become strong and independent.
