Uttarakhand Announces Women’s Travel, Transit and Empowerment Measures

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced several plans for women on Raksha Bandhan.

Women aged 60 and older will be able to ride Roadways buses for free.

Dehradun will receive 10 pink electric buses meant for women.

These buses may later be introduced in other parts of the state.

Women will also be able to get larger concessional loans to start businesses.

The government plans to build safer and more private high-tech toilets in important public places.

Dhami said the government wants women to become financially independent and create jobs.

He also said that 3.09 lakh women in the state have become Lakhpati Didis.
