Geeta Dhami Highlights Women's Role in Uttarakhand's Culture
In a town called Tanakpur, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, people held a special celebration called Sawan Utsav 2026.
It was a cultural programme made especially for women, full of songs, dances, games and talks.
A leader named Geeta Dhami came to the event and spoke to the women.
She told them that women are very important for farming, culture and earning money in Uttarakhand.

During the celebration, ten hard-working women received awards called the Nanda Shikhar Samman.

Geeta Dhami also planted a sandalwood tree sapling and gave saplings to the women, asking everyone to care for nature.
In the end, she encouraged all the women to learn new skills, start businesses and become independent.
