Western Railway To Run 42 Ganpati Special Train Trips In September For Konkan Travellers · freepressjournal.in

The Ganesh festival is a big celebration in India, and every year many people travel to the Konkan region to celebrate with their families.

To help these travellers, Western Railway is running special trains called Ganpati Specials.

The special trains will run in September 2026.

In total, 42 train trips will operate — 21 trains going one way and 21 trains returning.

The trains will connect Mumbai and parts of Gujarat with towns in the Konkan region.

The Railway Board approved these extra services because so many people travel during the festival.

Most of the trains will have 22 coaches, which means plenty of space for passengers.

The trains will stop at stations like Borivali, Panvel, Chiplun and Ratnagiri along the way.

Thanks to these special trains, people can visit their homes for the Ganesh festival more easily.
