Western Railway adds special train trips for Ganpati festival rush
A big train company in India called Western Railway wants to help people travel during a large festival called Ganpati.
During this festival, lots of people go to visit family and friends.
Because of this, trains can get really crowded.
To help out, the railway is adding extra train trips.
These special trains will connect big cities like Mumbai with places like Ratnagiri, Thokur and Sawantwadi.
The extra trips will happen in early September.
People can book tickets starting August 15 at 8 in the morning.

Western Railway has announced additional trips of special trains connecting Mumbai and Gujarat with Thokur, Udhna, Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi and Kudal for the Ganpati festival 2026 rush.
The additional services are being launched in view of passenger convenience and the extra rush of passengers during the Ganpati festival, Western Railway said in a post on X.
Bookings for the additional trips of Train Nos 09110, 09013, 09019, 09114, 09022, 09124 and 09030 open at 8 am on August 15, 2026, at PRS counters and through the IRCTC website.
Additional trips include services on routes such as Mumbai Central-Thokur, Mumbai Central-Sawantwadi Road, Vadodara-Ratnagiri, Vishvamitri-Ratnagiri, Udhna-Ratnagiri and Kudal-Ratnagiri, with most operated in early September 2026.
The special services will operate at special fares, and passengers have been advised to check detailed stoppages and train composition on the railway's official enquiry platform before planning their journey.
