MP Urges ₹250 Crore Release for Thane‑Mulund Station, Konkan Train Revivals
Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske met the Railway Minister in New Delhi to ask for money to build a new train station between Thane and Mulund.
The station would help people who use the busy Thane station.
He also wants trains that go to Ratnagiri and Madgaon to run again.
He wants more special trains for the Ganesh festival.
The Railway Ministry has approved the money but it has not been given yet.
Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to request early release of ₹250 crore for a new Thane‑Mulund railway station.
The station is intended to reduce overcrowding at Thane station, which serves many daily commuters.
Mhaske demanded restoration of the Ratnagiri–Dadar Passenger train to its pre‑COVID route and extension of the Diva–Sawantwadi Express.
He called for the Mumbai–Madgaon Vande Bharat Express to return to a six‑day weekly schedule during monsoon and for additional special trains during the Ganesh festival.
The Railway Ministry has approved the funds but they have not yet been released by the Railway Board.
