Golkar lawmaker says court ruling cannot justify Gibran’s impeachment

The Constitutional Court rejected a petition seeking to disqualify Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

It said it found no documents proving he had completed an overseas education program equivalent to high school.

Golkar lawmaker Zulfikar Arse Sadikin says the ruling does not establish grounds for impeachment.

He says lawmakers should instead update education rules for presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
