DPR Member Seeks Records on Contested Election Rule Used in Gibran Candidacy

A rule in Indonesia’s 2023 election regulation let candidates skip proof of foreign high-school graduation if they had a university qualification.

Critics called it tailored to Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who ran for vice-president in 2024.

Ahmad Doli Kurnia says he does not recall the clause being included in discussions with election officials.

He is checking records and says he may summon the election commission if there was wrongdoing.
