Indonesia plans housing with gas networks and solar power
Indonesia’s energy and housing ministers met in Jakarta to discuss a new housing plan.
The idea is to build homes with connections to natural gas networks and electricity from solar power.
The housing ministry plans to develop the areas, with a focus on workers near industrial centers.
Possible pilot locations include North Maluku, Tangerang regency, Bekasi regency and Meikarta.
The government is preparing technical studies, regulations, land plans and financing arrangements.
The proposed homes are intended to support faster housing development while including cleaner energy facilities.
