Hamilton takes blame for Singapore sprint qualifying strategy
Hamilton chose when he would drive onto the track in the final part of sprint qualifying.
He went out between the teams that started early and those that waited until the end.
His lap was not fast enough for better than sixth, and he said the car was difficult to control.
He also said the soft tyres gave him grip at the front but not at the rear.
The starting position matters because overtaking at Singapore is expected to be difficult.
