Gasly questions stewards’ decision not to penalise Norris for Piastri collision
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, both driving for McLaren, collided on the final lap of the Formula 1 sprint race in Singapore.
Norris tried to pass Piastri on the inside at Turn 5, and Piastri spun into the barrier.
Norris finished eighth and kept the point awarded for that place.
The stewards said both drivers contributed to the crash and neither was mainly to blame, so they took no further action.
Alpine driver Pierre Gasly questioned the decision because a penalty for Norris could have earned Gasly a point.
He also pointed to other recent collisions involving teammates and said he expected the issue to be discussed with the stewards.
Gasly qualified eighth for the Singapore Grand Prix’s main race.
