Wallace, Bowman and Byron uninjured after major Charlotte NASCAR crash

A crash during the NASCAR Cup race in Charlotte ended the day for Bubba Wallace, Alex Bowman and William Byron.

Bowman’s car slid as he tried to pass Wallace for fifth, then hit Wallace’s car and sent both into the outside wall and the inside barrier.

Byron could not avoid the wreck and hit Bowman’s car.

All three drivers were checked at the infield care center and released.

Wallace climbed out and walked to an ambulance, but did not need the stretcher that had been brought to his car.

Bowman said his car got loose and he overcorrected, while Wallace said there were no hard feelings.

Wallace finished 37th, Bowman 38th and Byron 39th; it was Wallace’s first DNF of the Chase.
