Hamilton says last-minute setup change hurt Ferrari balance in Singapore qualifying
Lewis Hamilton qualified third for the Singapore Grand Prix, behind his Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
Hamilton had been fastest in the first two qualifying sessions, but his final session was less successful.
He said a small front-wing adjustment made the car’s balance unstable.
Singapore is a street circuit, where grip can increase as more rubber is laid on the track, making setup decisions difficult.
Leclerc also said he believed Ferrari had the potential to take pole, but mistakes affected his final lap.
The two Ferraris will start behind Verstappen, and Hamilton said they may be able to work together to put pressure on him.
The race is expected to be dry, though Hamilton said beating Verstappen would be difficult.
