Raul Fernandez takes maiden MotoGP pole at Indonesian Grand Prix
Raul Fernandez earned the first pole position of his MotoGP career at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika, Indonesia.
Pole means he is due to start the race from the front of the grid.
Marco Bezzecchi qualified second, and Fabio di Giannantonio was third.
Championship contenders Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin will start fourth and fifth, respectively.
Fernandez's place in the race is uncertain because he broke a finger in a sprint crash with Bezzecchi.
He is due to ride in Sunday's warm-up to assess his fitness before deciding whether to race.
If he does not start, the race will go ahead without the pole-sitter.
Raul Fernandez claimed his first MotoGP pole position at the Indonesian Grand Prix on Saturday, riding for Trackhouse Aprilia.
Marco Bezzecchi qualified second, with Fabio Di Giannantonio third for VR46 Ducati.
Marc Marquez qualified fourth, 0.034 seconds ahead of championship leader Jorge Martin, who will start fifth.
Fermin Aldeguer was sixth despite crashing in Q2, while Ai Ogura qualified seventh after coming through Q1.
The qualifying sessions featured several crashes, and Toprak Razgatlioglu qualified 19th after dislocating his right shoulder in a crash during final practice.
