Jakarta Weighs Transjakarta Boat Service to the Thousand Islands

Jakarta is considering a Transjakarta boat service to connect the city with the Thousand Islands.

A council party says better links could make it easier for island residents to reach schools, health care and jobs.

Officials are still studying whether ships, fares and docks are ready.

The plan is part of a wider proposal to expand Transjakarta beyond road transport.
