Modi Receives Uzbekistan’s Highest Honour, Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Uzbekistan gave Prime Minister Narendra Modi its highest honour for foreign leaders.
The award is called the Oliy Darajali Do’stlik Order.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented it to him in Tashkent.
Modi said the award showed the long friendship between India and Uzbekistan.
He dedicated the honour to the people of India and the two countries’ shared heritage.
The word “Dostlik” means friendship.
India and Uzbekistan also upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
They want to increase trade to USD 5 billion by 2030 and work together in areas such as energy, health, education and connectivity.

Modi dedicated the honour to the enduring friendship, shared heritage and civilisational ties between India and Uzbekistan.

India and Uzbekistan elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership after talks between Modi and Mirziyoyev.
The countries set a bilateral trade target of USD 5 billion by 2030 and agreed to expand cooperation in several sectors.
