Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Uzbekistan for two days.

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed him at the airport in Tashkent.

Members of the Indian community also greeted Modi warmly.

They chanted patriotic slogans, and some women tied a rakhi to his hand.

Children and artists performed Indian and Uzbek dances and music.

One performance combined tabla with Uzbek instruments called the doira and chang.

Modi and Mirziyoyev visited the Yangi Uzbekistan Monument and Park.

Modi placed a wreath at the monument.

The leaders plan to discuss ways for India and Uzbekistan to work more closely together.
