Modi Begins Uzbekistan Visit With Wreath at Yangi Monument
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun a two-day visit to Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed him at the airport in Tashkent.
The two leaders then visited Yangi Uzbekistan Park, also called the Yangi Uzbekistan Monument in the reports.
Modi placed a wreath there to honour Uzbekistan’s history and national spirit.
He said the monument shows the hopes and progress of the Uzbek people.
The leaders looked at artwork about Uzbek culture and history.
They are expected to discuss ways for India and Uzbekistan to work more closely together.
Modi will also visit places connected with the cultural friendship between the two countries.
