T. Anand, who leads Chennai’s water and sewerage board, inspected two important facilities.

One facility distributes drinking water to many neighborhoods.

It can send out 45 million litres of water each day.

It serves about 4.66 lakh people.

The other facility pumps sewage away from Ashok Nagar and West Mambalam.

It can handle 10 million litres of sewage daily.

Anand asked officials to check pipes and fix problems before the northeast monsoon arrives.

This is meant to help keep water and sewage services working properly.
