B Tech Graduate Arrested After Alleged Vijayawada House Burglary
Police in Vijayawada arrested a 22-year-old engineering graduate named Mareedu Vinod Kumar.
They say he broke into a locked house while its owner was away in Chennai.
The owner had travelled for his daughter’s medical treatment.
When the owner returned, gold and silver items were missing.
Police say the stolen property was worth about Rs 40 lakh.
They used CCTV footage and information about a Honda Activa to find the suspect.
Police allege Vinod wanted money for a lavish lifestyle.
The recovered valuables were presented during a police press conference.
Machavaram police arrested 22-year-old Mareedu Vinod Kumar in connection with a burglary in Vijayawada’s Veterinary Colony.
Police allege the B Tech graduate occasionally worked as a Zomato and Swiggy delivery executive.
The burglary allegedly occurred after the homeowner left for Chennai for his daughter’s medical treatment.
Police recovered 350 grams of gold and 230 grams of silver worth about Rs 40 lakh.
Investigators said CCTV footage, vehicle details and surveillance helped trace Vinod to Governorpet.
