Kodad Police Arrest Notorious Thief, Recover ₹63 Lakh Stolen Valuables
Police in Kodad arrested a man accused of stealing from houses.
His name is Patnamshetti Raju, also called Raji Reddy.
Police said he had carried out 10 burglaries in Kodad since 2021.
They found gold and silver ornaments with him.
The gold was valued at ₹60 lakh, while the silver was valued at ₹3.6 lakh.
Police said he noticed locked houses while driving around during the day.
He allegedly entered those houses at night.
Officers caught him near a flyover while he was traveling to Vijayawada.
Police said he planned to sell the stolen ornaments there.
Kodad police arrested Patnamshetti Raju alias Raji Reddy, 41, in Suryapet district on Tuesday.
Police recovered 37 tolas of gold worth ₹60 lakh and 470 grams of silver worth ₹3.6 lakh.
Superintendent of Police K. Narsimha said Raji Reddy committed 10 house burglaries in Kodad since 2021.
Police arrested him at Huzurnagar flyover while he was allegedly traveling to Vijayawada to sell the valuables.
Police said Raji Reddy worked as a car driver by day and targeted locked houses at night.
