Gujarat Police Trace Pune Duo in Vapi Burglaries
Police in Gujarat investigated several daytime burglaries in apartment buildings in Vapi.
The thieves reportedly broke locks and stole cash and gold.
In the identified thefts, the losses totaled Rs 4.75 lakh.
Police also said they tried to enter about four other flats.
Investigators noticed that a red Pulsar motorcycle was used.
They reviewed more than 200 CCTV recordings along the Vapi-Mumbai route.
This helped them identify Yash Deshmukh and Dhananjay Kale from the Pune area.
Maharashtra Police had already arrested the two men in another case.
Gujarat Police later took custody of them for the Vapi burglary investigation.
Valsad district police linked two Pune-based habitual offenders to daytime burglaries in Vapi.
The investigation began after a May 29 burglary at Rishiraj Complex in Balitha, where Rs 2.4 lakh in cash and gold ornaments were stolen.
Similar thefts at Rishiraj Complex and Mahalaxmi Avenue brought the identified losses to Rs 4.75 lakh.
Police also recorded attempted break-ins at about four flats in Gehna Apartment and registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
More than 200 CCTV recordings along the Vapi-Mumbai route helped identify Yash Deshmukh and Dhananjay Kale, who were already in Maharashtra Police custody.
