Pune SIR Draft Roll Excludes 28.66 Lakh Names; Claims Open
Officials in Pune checked the voter list as part of a special revision.
The earlier list had about 90.8 lakh voters, but the draft list has about 62.1 lakh.
Many names were not included because people were marked absent, shifted, deceased or duplicated.
This does not necessarily mean every name is permanently removed.
Some cases will be reviewed through hearings.
People can check the draft list and ask for a name to be added or corrected.
Claims and objections are open from August 31 to September 30.
The final voter list is expected on November 4, 2026.
Pune’s draft electoral roll lists 62,13,692 voters, compared with 90,80,173 before the revision.
A total of 28,66,481 entries were placed in the Absent, Shifted, Dead/Duplicate category.
The excluded entries include 17,83,058 absent, 5,91,038 shifted, 3,12,048 deceased and 1,43,975 duplicate voters.
Claims and objections can be filed from August 31 through September 30 using Forms 6, 7 or 8.
The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 4, 2026, after hearings and review.
