Pune SIR Draft Roll Excludes 28.66 Lakh Names; Claims Open
Pune SIR Draft Roll: 28.66 Lakh Voters Missing As Electorate Falls 31.6%; Claims & Objections Open Till September 30 · freepressjournal.in

Officials in Pune checked the voter list as part of a special revision.

The earlier list had about 90.8 lakh voters, but the draft list has about 62.1 lakh.

Many names were not included because people were marked absent, shifted, deceased or duplicated.

This does not necessarily mean every name is permanently removed.

Some cases will be reviewed through hearings.

People can check the draft list and ask for a name to be added or corrected.

Claims and objections are open from August 31 to September 30.

The final voter list is expected on November 4, 2026.

“Hearings would be held by the respective Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) for voters whose details in the draft roll contain discrepancies or whose details could not be mapped to the 2002 electoral roll. A decision on inclusion in the final roll will be taken after the hearings.”
