PM Modi targets 50 Indian companies in Fortune 500

On Independence Day, India's leader, Prime Minister Modi, made a big speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

He said India has big dreams and wants to become a very successful country.

He wants 50 Indian companies to join the Fortune 500, the list of the world's biggest companies.

He also wants an Indian bank to be one of the best banks in the world.

He dreams of an Indian medicine company being among the top five in the world.

Mr. Modi said India has grown a lot in the past 12 years, going from being called the 'Fragile Five' to the world's fastest-growing big economy.

He said making defence equipment, electronics, and railway coaches has increased many times.

He shared the dream of India becoming a developed country by the year 2047.

He believes 140 crore Indians working together can make all these dreams come true.
