India's Journey From 'Fragile Five' to Major Economy: PM Modi

A long time ago, some experts said India was one of the 'Fragile Five' countries, meaning they thought India's economy was weak.

On the day India celebrated its 80th birthday as an independent country, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, gave a big speech from the Red Fort.

During his speech, he reminded everyone that India used to be called a 'Fragile Five' economy.

But he said that because people worked hard, India has grown into a major economy over the past 12 years.

He believes the hard work of the people helped change India's story.

He also pointed out that the old government, led by the Congress party, was in charge during the time India got that label.
