Over 63.5 Lakh Telangana Voters Marked for Deletion

In India, a state called Telangana is checking its big list of people who are allowed to vote.

This list is called the electoral roll.

The people doing the checking have found many names that may not belong on the list.

More than 63 lakh names have been marked because those people may have moved away, died, or been listed twice.

There are also more than 62 lakh forms with mistakes in them.

If your name is marked, you might not be able to vote.

But you can fix it by going to a special officer called a booth level officer.

You need to fill in a form before August 10.

After August 17, the authorities can send you an official notice asking you to explain.

The rules say nobody can be removed from the list without getting a chance to explain.
