Telangana SIR deadline ends; 78% voter form digitization completed
The Election Commission in Telangana asked every voter to check their details on a special form during a period called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.
Workers called Booth Level Officers had to scan and save all these forms on computers.
The deadline for this work ended on Monday.
They finished about 78 out of every 100 forms, which is good but not everything.
Some places, like Yadadri Bhongir, did a great job and finished almost all their forms.
But big cities like Hyderabad did not finish as many.
The deadline was moved back two times so more people could submit their forms.
People who never returned their forms might not see their names on the new voter list.
The Commission will share the draft list on August 17 so people can check it.
The final voter list will be published on October 19.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) deadline in Telangana ended on Monday, with election authorities completing 78.26 per cent of the digitization process.
Booth Level Officers digitized the Enumeration Forms of 2,64,30,494 voters, or 78.14 per cent of the state's total of 3,38,26,448 voters.
Yadadri Bhongir led districts with 94.31 per cent digitization, while Hyderabad recorded the lowest at 58.89 per cent.
The deadline was extended twice, from July 26 to August 3 and then to August 10, but 100 per cent digitization was not achieved.
Voters who did not return their enumeration forms may have their names deleted from the draft voters' list; draft rolls are due on August 17 and final rolls on October 19.
